BENEFITS OF PARTITION WALLS

Partition walls are:

  • A cost-effective way of creating spaces

  • Private, especially when you choose a partition with a premium acoustic rating

  • Strong and safe – a good quality partition can absorb vibrations and provide structural stability. They are also resistant to heat, damp and mould

  • Lightweight and are easy to install – installing a partition is far less disruptive

OFFICE PARTITIONS

There are a number of benefits to installing partitions in an office space. They are more cost effective to heat or cool, and the temperature can be tailored to the individual user’s requirements. By creating individual zones they provide a more welcoming workspace, and this increases productivity by reducing distractions and increasing privacy.

USEFUL FACTS

  • Although partitions (or stud walls) are not usually created to be load-bearing walls, they can still provide useful structural support, especially in older buildings

  • As they are non-load bearing, partition walls do not usually require planning permission to install

  • Partition walls are usually about 5 inches thick

  • A noggin is the horizontal support between the vertical wall studs
